Holmes County C.A.S.E. Coalition
Countywide Anti Substance-abuse Efforts
About Us:
The Countywide Anti Substance-abuse Efforts (CASE) Coalition formed in March 2003, out of the very active Holmes
County Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Council. CASE, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization, whose
structure and activities are determined by its bylaws on file with the State of Florida.
The goals of the CASE coalition are to:
1) to reduce substance abuse among youth and, over time, among adults by addressing the factors in Holmes County
that increase the risk of substance abuse and promoting the factors that minimize the risk of substance abuse; and
2) to establish and strengthen collaboration among communities; private nonprofit agencies; and Federal, State, and
local governments to support the efforts of CASE to prevent and reduce substance abuse among youth
CASE operates with grant funding from the Drug Free Communities grant program administered by SAMHSA. In
addition, CASE received seed money from the Governor’s Office of Drug Policy, has been awarded two grants from
Florida State University’s Prevention Department, and receives monetary and in kind support from members and
partners. CASE programs include a 12-step support group for chemically dependent individuals, drug awareness
presentations, countywide media campaign, counseling and treatment referrals, sponsorship of drug free events, and
more.
